PSI-BLAST

• Perform an initial BLAST search

• Modify the scoring matrix such that it is an Nx20 'profile' (or 'position specific scoring matrix') rather than a 20x20 matrix

• Iteratively perform more BLAST searches and modify the profile until convergence
